IN DREAMS

In dreams, it seems, þat I see my whole life.
Locales left long enexplorèd for years,
Renderèd live again wiðin my mind.
I see people I’ll never meet again,
I see places I’ll never go again,
Alðough now here distorted and changèd,
As naught stays þe same in þe waking world,
So too in þe dream world, ever changing.
Þe faces change while þe names stay þe same.
Þough at times, even þe names change shape too.
Noðing ever truly remains þe same.
Awake, þe changes happen gradually,
Þough at times þe þread is interrupted.
Sudden, explosive, qualitative leaps.
While þe sleeper’s reality seems to
Near constantly shift wið little warning.
Þe wise words ov Heraclitus ring true,
For but once does one step in þe water.
But once does one swim in þe stream ov dreams.
